Chana Daal (Split Chickpea Lentils) Recipe | Vegan/Vegetarian Recipe

????In today’s video I’m making a vegan and vegetarian friendly recipe for Chana Daal (Split Chickpea Lentils). There’s tons of lentils out there but this one is up there in my favorites. Hope you enjoy! I’ll definitely share more vegetarian recipes on my channel – so stick around and subscribe!

????Ingredients List for your convenience:
split chickpeas (chana daal) 1 cup
2 cups water (to soak)

To Cook Daal:
3 cups water to cook
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
2 whole garlic cloves
salt to taste
cleaned 1 cup chana daal

For Masala:
1 tsp. cumin seeds
4 cloves
2 cardamom pods
1 small onion chopped
3 garlic cloves chopped
1 tbsp. fresh ginger chopped
2 large tomatoes chopped
1/2 tsp. turmeric powder
1 tsp red chili powder
1 tsp coriander powder
1 green chili chopped (optional)
1/2 tsp garam masala
salt to taste
additional water to cook with
oil to cook with

cilantro (coriander) leaves for garnishing
